Wis. lawmakers consider grant fund for employee wellness programs

Wisconsin lawmakers are considering a bill that would allocate $3 million for grants to help small businesses start employee wellness programs. The plan would allow employers to cover 30% of the cost of a wellness program using a state grant, but programs would have to include health risk assessments and address at least one other area, such as weight management, disease prevention, nutrition education or physical exams.
