GE's ultrasound device shows positive trial results

A study in a radiology journal found that, compared with using mammography alone, combining mammography with GE Healthcare's somo.v Automated Breast Ultrasound System, or ABUS, device substantially improved breast cancer detection as well as inter-reader agreement in women with dense breasts. GE used the trial to back its FDA premarket approval application for the device.
