Resveratrol shows efficacy in 2 diabetes studies

Type 2 diabetes patients who received oral hypoglycemic agents and resveratrol supplements attained significant improvements in body weight, oxidative stress and lipid profile compared with those who received only oral hypoglycemic agents, according to a study in the International Research Journal of Pharmacy. Another study, published in the journal Evidence-Based Complementary and Alternative Medicine, showed short-term use of resveratrol fared better than placebo in curbing blood glucose and insulin levels in patients with type 2 diabetes.
