Analysis: West Nile virus may be in a cycle

The number of West Nile virus infections detected in blood donations in the U.S. dropped by about half this year compared with 2007, according to a recent analysis of federal figures by the Boston Globe. Also, half as many people have developed the most serious neurological complications associated with the virus. One CDC official, however, said it is uncertain whether the infections will stay at "these sustained lower levels."
