Kroger CEO Dillon plans retirement before 2014

David Dillon plans to retire as Kroger's CEO at year-end but continue as chairman through 2014, the company says. Dillon, who has led Kroger through a decade of growth, will be replaced by Chief Operating Officer Rodney McMullen, who will oversee completion of the company's acquisition of Harris Teeter Supermarkets.
