Stress is also a factor in mistakes by medical residents

Sleepiness and fatigue are important factors in whether medical residents make errors, but researchers said general stress also contributes. A study found 39% of residents surveyed reported making at least one major medical error, and those who did also were more likely to say they were fatigued or stressed.
