Neb. researchers to study industrial applications for camelina oil

Researchers at University of Nebraska-Lincoln have secured a three-year, $500,000 federal grant to study the potential of camelina to produce oil for industrial applications. Camelina is a candidate for bio-based oil applications because it is not a food source and requires minimal water, said researcher Ed Cahoon, who is also studying camelina oil's potential for jet fuel.
