Cutoff for FCC's UHF discount could be Sept. 26

The Federal Communications Commission is said to be leaning toward a notice of proposed rulemaking that would no longer apply UHF discounts for any TV station deal made after Sept. 26 when determining whether an acquisition violates the 39% ownership cap. However, deals brokered prior to Sept. 26 are likely to be grandfathered, although the final decision reportedly is "in flux."
