Excessive use of social networks could impede people's short-term memory, according to Swedish researchers. It's theorized that the constant stream of information from sites such as Facebook overloads neural circuits, making it harder for people to remember things. "When you are on Facebook, you are making it harder to keep the things that are 'online' in your brain that you need," study author Erik Fransen said.
