Group: Failure to boost Pa. university's funding may rekindle suit

A group including lawmakers as well as students and alumni of Cheyney University, in Pennsylvania, are threatening to revive a federal lawsuit if more funding isn't provided for the historically black school. The coalition said the university isn't being funded equitably under the state's formula. The suit, which began more than three decades ago, was settled in 1999 with the state providing $36.5 million for improvements at the university.
