Intermodal rail key factor in transportation development, says Boyd

The intermodal facilities of railroads have become an important piece of the U.S. transportation network, according to The Boyd Co. For instance, dozens of regions are experiencing cost savings due to these facilities, and that in turn is likely to attract new distribution hubs, says John Boyd, Boyd principal. As the projects are built, they are expected to "employ thousands of workers and generate millions and millions of dollars in new property tax revenues," he adds.
