Seattle mayoral candidate Murray has majority backing from City Council

Seattle Councilwoman Jean Godden has endorsed state Sen. Ed Murray in the city's mayoral election, making her the fifth of nine members to do so. Godden cited tension between the council and incumbent Mayor Mike McGinn in her decision to endorse Murray, who would be the city's first openly gay mayor. Recent polling shows Murray leading McGinn, 52% to 30%.
