Wal-Mart chemical policy sets standard for consumer product manufacturers

Wal-Mart has asked its suppliers to eliminate 10 chemicals from their cleaning products and cosmetics and to reveal the products' ingredients. Triclosan is likely on the list of chemicals, which were not immediately named, this article says. "Wal-Mart's policy signals a new era of going beyond regulatory compliance to reduce the use of hazardous chemicals," said Mark Rossi of Clean Production Action.
