Ban: Global leaders must act now on common challenges

United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon called on world leaders to rise against global challenges, advising that "if ever there were a time to act in a spirit of renewed multilateralism, a moment to create a United Nations of genuine collective action, it is now." Ban drew particular attention to nuclear weapons, climate change, poverty and human-rights abuses.
