Grace period extended for IRS penalties on tax shelters

Since Congress has not acted on a tax shelter penalty that could cost small-business owners hundreds of thousands of dollars, the Internal Revenue Service has decided to extend the grace period from the end of this month to the end of the year. Small business was an unintended target of an IRS crackdown on certain retirement fund investments.
