HHS official: EHRs will help bridge health care gap among ethnicities

Electronic health records and other health IT resources will help improve the collection of data on patients from different races, which can be used to identify how to reduce disparities among minorities and underserved populations, said Dr. Garth Graham of the HHS Office of Minority Health. Graham also noted the involvement of the HHS with the National Health IT Collaborative to bring the technology to underserved patients and their health care providers.
