Mentoring program pairs new teachers with experienced educators

Educators with at least three years of experience are sharing their insights with new teachers via a mentoring program in Mississippi. More than 200 teachers have been trained to provide guidance through the New Teacher Mentor Program in DeSoto County schools. Every new teacher is paired with a mentor, and the state pays mentors $1,000 for 90 hours of work each year.
