California lab works as animal disease "warning system"

A laboratory in San Bernardino, Calif., houses a group of 30 biologists who serve as the first line of defense in tracking disease threats to poultry and livestock animals in the state's southern region. "This lab serves as a warning system for critical diseases," said Dr. Hailu Kinde, the California Animal Health and Food Safety Laboratory System's interim director.
