Experts: Advances in automated cars prompt regulatory questions

States will need to develop regulations on the use of self-driving vehicles as car manufacturers make headway in automated-vehicle technology, according to experts. "You're going to have to have some kind of regulatory foundations in place at a reasonably nascent place. Or else everybody's going to get the feeling it's the Wild West out there," said Bill Visnic of A survey sponsored by Chubb found that a majority of respondents want licensed drivers operating self-driving cars, while one-third of motorists said they would feel safe if traveling while automated cars are being driven.
