Influx of patients under ACA will drive demand for health care workers, officials say

As the Affordable Care Act takes effect, public health officials are anticipating substantially increased demand for health care professionals across the spectrum of providers, including sonographers. New Jersey officials estimate thousands in their state alone will be seeking health care, many for the first time in years. "We're talking about thousands, maybe tens of thousands of jobs over the next 10 to 15 years," said Robert Wise, who leads the New Jersey Health Care Workforce Council.
