Lawmaker wants EEOC to protect privacy in wellness programs

Rep. Louise Slaughter, D-N.Y., has written a letter asking the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission to determine whether employer wellness programs violate worker privacy by requesting detailed health information. In an interview, Slaughter referred to recently suspended wellness practices at Pennsylvania State University as "appalling."
