Mass. prepares for trial of online exam aligned with common core

Massachusetts officials are preparing to launch a trial of online assessments that could replace the state's standardized testing system. The math and English exam, aligned with the Common Core State Standards, will be tested in 1,250 schools. Officials said the new exam is intended to better assess whether students are prepared for college and careers.
