Menstrual management among adolescents with developmental disabilities

Adolescents with developmental disabilities increasingly favor the oral contraceptive pill and patch over depot medroxyprogesterone, with the levonorgestrel intrauterine system increasingly used as a second-line option. This study goes on to characterize bleeding patterns, menstrual symptoms and types of support for this population.
