Staples jumps into connected-home market

Staples is moving into the home automation field, partnering with vendors such as Linksys and Lutron to offer a variety of new products. Zonoff is providing its cloud-based home control platform as part of the chain's portfolio. The Staples Connect product line, which will go on sale in November, is designed as a way for consumers to get into the connected-home market in a cost-effective way without having to be tied to an Internet Service Provider plan.
