Calif. group moves forward with bid to repeal Proposition 8

Advocacy group Love Honor Cherish has offered language for a ballot initiative that seeks to repeal California's Proposition 8 marriage ban. The question includes language that would exempt religious organizations from being compelled to conduct same-sex marriages. John Henning, executive director of Love Honor Cherish, said the launch of the effort puts the state "back on the path toward full equality," but other marriage-equality leaders questioned whether the timing is too soon to try to overturn Proposition 8.
