Calif. city council approves 5-year contract for manager

The Hemet, Calif., City Council has decided to hire Wally Hill as city manager. "I'm very excited about coming to Hemet," Hill said. "There's a lot of opportunity and a lot of challenges. I can't wait to get started." Hill had been assistant chief operating officer in San Diego until January. He is Hemet's seventh manager in seven years and has been offered a five-year deal in hopes of ending high turnover.
