Calif. to survey students on school climate, culture

The California Department of Education has revised its Healthy Kids Survey to focus more on school climate, culture and students' social-emotional health -- addressing what has become an area of interest among some educators. The revisions were made, in part, because of research showing that students who report feeling supported socially and academically in school will outperform their peers who do not share the same feelings in their schools.
