Geovisual analytics benefits school district planners

Public school districts are making use of geovisual analytics to gain insight into issues ranging from student attrition to gang patterns that could affect identification of school safe zones. Among programs helping school district officials are GuideK12, a software program that collects school and government data to create maps aimed at spotting trends, as well as Esri's GIS software, which helps districts do things like choose where to put new schools and how to distribute students when old ones close.
