A North Carolina high school this year has established a SMART -- Students Maximizing Achievement Relationships Time -- lunch program, in which every student at the school goes to lunch at the same time. During the 55-minute block, students eat but also receive tutoring, socialize with their peers and meet for school clubs. Students who receive an F or a D also are required to go to a tutorial session during the lunch period.
