New strength of Purdue Pharma's pain patch Butrans gets FDA OK

The FDA approved the 15-microgram-per-hour strength of Purdue Pharma's chronic pain patch Butrans, or buprenorphine. The drug, already approved in 20-microgram, 10-microgram and 5-microgram strengths, is indicated for moderate to severe chronic pain requiring a continuous opioid analgesic for an extended period.
