Pretzel craze spreads to more brands, products

The pretzel craze is making its way throughout the food industry. This week, 7-Eleven is rolling out a pretzel-bread sandwich, and next week, Wendy's will debut a chicken sandwich with a pretzel bun. In 2012, 160 new pretzels products were launched, and pretzel bread was the fastest-growing sandwich option, according to Mintel and Datassential. The pretzel twist has even been added to granola bars and ice cream products.
