Gen Y workers -- those ages 18 to 32 -- are ascending into management positions fastest among today's working generations, writes S. Chris Edmonds. That makes it all the more important for companies to put appropriate training and development strategies in place. "First, organizations must accept the reality of this generational shift. Expectations of the past (of baby boomer managers or even Gen X managers) will not apply to millennial managers," Edmonds warns.
