Senate tackles cybersecurity with CISPA counterpart

Senate Intelligence Committee Chairman Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., says she has put the finishing touches on draft cybersecurity legislation that will serve as the Senate counterpart to the Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act, which passed the House earlier this year. Like CISPA, the new bill would encourage voluntary information sharing between the public and private sector, but observers say recent revelations about National Security Agency surveillance of U.S. citizens could complicate efforts to pass such a bill.
