U.S. telecom sector needs to beef up cybersecurity, experts say

The U.S. telecom industry needs to take additional steps to ensure the cybersecurity of its networks, according to some experts, who say many industry executives are misinformed about the nature of cyberthreats. A recent study found that just half of all service providers are adequately protected against distributed denial of service attacks, said Teri Francis, vice president of customer solutions at NTT Communications.
