AT&T lands contract to overhaul U.S. government telecom network

AT&T said it had won a contract from the U.S. Treasury to overhaul the government's telecom system by building a new IP-enabled telecom network. AT&T said the contract was for an initial $270 million to build the platform, but could eventually expand to be worth $1 billion if additional services were required.
