FAA closed Memphis airspace for three hours

The failure of a major telephone line Tuesday at the regional air-traffic control center in Memphis, Tenn., forced the FAA to reroute flights already in the air and ground or reroute flights that were due to travel through the area. Operations were back to normal by about 3:30 p.m., said spokeswoman for the FAA.
