Acting FCC chairwoman has long agenda for short stint

Acting Federal Communications Commission Chairwoman Mignon Clyburn is trying to maximize her limited time in the job by enacting a series of regulatory changes and other major decisions that include cheaper rates for prison phone calls; approval for wireless devices on smaller carrier networks to use the same networks as bigger rivals for key frequencies; scheduling the incentive spectrum auction; and the proposed elimination of the UHF discount for determining the station ownership cap. "We made a commitment not only to keep the trains moving but ensuring that we complete the tasks and the missions the American public expect of us," Clyburn said.
