BlackBerry executive promises commitment to app developers

Alec Saunders, vice president of developer relations for BlackBerry World, pledged BlackBerry's continued commitment to mobile and urged developers not to give up on the company, while speaking at the BlackBerry Jam Asia in Hong Kong. Sanders said platform is "the core focus of BlackBerry," vowing investment in applications "for connected cars, wearable devices and connected homes," Rachel Bolton writes. Separately, Fairfax Financial Holdings CEO Prem Watsa said he was confident the company can successfully take BlackBerry private, "away from Wall Street's constant gaze."
