The blind spots of corporate innovation

Just as metals must be forged at high temperatures to avoid cracking, so innovation strategies must be subjected to the "harsh fire of competitive markets," writes Scott Anthony. That means leaders should be wary of any innovation plan that's the product solely of brainstorming based on secondhand reports. "Push the team to recognize the imperfection of any new strategy and to spend the necessary time in the marketplace to create a more resilient strategy with sharply higher chances of success," Anthony writes.
