BofA's Reilly on the business of technology

David Reilly, Bank of America's technology infrastructure executive, firmly believes that IT is a business and he and his team utilize this approach as they compare the BofA's infrastructure to other banks in the market. The bank not only compares their technology to other banks, but technology providers as well, some of whom have trouble understanding the concept of a technology economy. The bank will soon be changing to a software-defined infrastructure, which differs entirely from BofA's current model.
