Calif. chefs gear up to fight fracking

Chez Panisse founder Alice Waters and chef Jerome Waag are organizing a petition drive to convince California Gov. Jerry Brown to place a moratorium on fracking, a controversial process for extracting oil and gas. The effort, aimed at protecting the state's food and wine industries, is modeled after a similar push in New York that included chefs Mario Batali and Bill Telepan.
