House GOP may separate Obamacare from shutdown bill

House Republicans are considering offering a bill to avoid a government shutdown that doesn't include language defunding President Barack Obama's healthcare plan, and instead are seeking to connect a one-year delay in that plan with raising the U.S. debt limit. The White House criticized the plan, saying it would not halt the Affordable Care Act provisions.
