New comprehensive planning designation is offered for advisers

The American College is offering a new designation that focuses on comprehensive financial planning. Called the Financial Services Certified Professional, it will replace an offering that focused on insurance sales. Skills covered in the new designation include social media, health care and divorce planning. "We've designed FSCP to appeal to independent advisors, wealth managers, insurance specialists, registered reps and other financial professionals who want to be better at what they do," said Larry Barton, president and chief executive of The American College.
