RealNetworks debuts cloud-based video player

RealPlayer Cloud is being hailed as RealNetworks' bid to return to prominence in online media, offering an integrated video player and cloud service. The company is making RealPlayer Cloud applications available for Android and iOS mobile devices, PCs, Roku products and the Web, and will offer the first 2 gigabytes of storage for free. "The business model of 'freemium,' there are many examples of it working, especially for storage," RealNetworks chief Rob Glaser.
