Report: Microsoft may combine Windows Phone, Windows app stores

Microsoft is expected to merge the Windows Phone Store and Windows Store into one application store by next year, Tom Warren writes, citing sources familiar with the company's plans. Microsoft's Terry Myerson told employees that the move will affect Windows Phone 8.1 and an update of Windows 8.1. Meanwhile, Appcelerator reported declining interest among chief information officers, developers and others in creating applications for Windows Phone mobile devices.
