Roche signs Dx development deal with Pacific Biosciences

Pacific Biosciences of California has struck a deal to develop and sell sequencing tools and consumables exclusively to Roche Diagnostics. Pacific Biosciences will receive $35 million in cash and potentially $40 million more from the deal, which also gives Roche exclusive rights to use the technologies for nucleic acid sequencing for in vitro diagnostics for humans.
