SEC's White: Enforcement cases will focus on individuals

The Securities and Exchange Commission is changing the emphasis of enforcement to bring more action against individuals, rather than focusing on companies, Chairman Mary Jo White says. "It is a subtle shift but one that could bring more individuals into enforcement cases. ... Redress for wrongdoing must never be seen as a cost of doing business made good by cutting a corporate check," she said.
