Tenn. lawmaker expects passage of bill on wine sales at grocers

Tennessee Senate Speaker Ron Ramsey says he expects the legislature to pass a bill during its next session to allow the sale of wine at supermarkets and convenience stores. A House committee narrowly defeated this year's bill. Tennessee law allows the sale of beer with less than 6.5% alcohol at supermarkets and convenience stores; anything stronger, including wine and spirits, must be sold at liquor stores.
