Google's recently announced decision to encrypt all user searches means that online marketers will no longer be able to access keyword data in Google Analytics. The reasons for the shift are unclear, but observers speculate Google may be trying to increase privacy in the wake of the National Security Agency surveillance scandal or to force more businesses to pay for keyword clicks through Google AdWords, writes Shell Robshaw-Bryan.
