BBC, cable groups talk U.S. distribution deal

BBC last week talked with cable groups Comcast, Cox Communications and Time Warner Cable, as well as with satellite platform DirecTV, about a possible partnership for U.S. distribution of news channel BBC World. The British public broadcaster launched its effort to get the rolling news channel into the U.S. two years ago.
